Appia Life Viva: A New Chapter for Coffee Equipment in West Africa
This November, Mai Shayi Coffee Roasters will introduce the Appia Life Viva to Nigeria — bringing Nuova Simonelli’s latest innovation to the heart of the country’s growing specialty coffee and hospitality industry.
For us, this is more than the arrival of a new machine. It is part of a larger shift in how coffee is built, served and experienced in Nigeria.
The country’s specialty coffee market is changing. New cafés are opening, hotels are investing in their F&B operations, and hospitality businesses are looking for equipment partners who can offer more than a machine — partners who understand coffee from sourcing and roasting to training, installation and service.
That is where the Appia Life Viva launch meets the Mai Shayi story.
As an authorised Nuova Simonelli partner and a vertically integrated specialty coffee company, Mai Shayi Coffee brings together the elements required to build a complete coffee operation: coffee, equipment, training and technical support. The launch will bring that complete approach to life.
One day. Three experiences.
The November launch will take place at our Flagship Café in Abuja and will unfold across three distinct moments.
The morning will be dedicated to our internal team, dealers and technical partners, with product training and hands-on technical certification designed to strengthen the local expertise behind every Appia Life Viva installed in Nigeria.
In the afternoon, the doors will open to café owners, hotel F&B managers, restaurant operators, hospitality procurement teams, media and qualified industry prospects. Guests will experience the Appia Life Viva through a live product demonstration, extraction masterclass and Q&A.
The afternoon will also introduce the Appia Viva Cup — Abuja 2026, bringing baristas together in Espresso and Manual Brewing categories, with an overall champion crowned across both disciplines.
The day will close with an intimate evening gathering for senior hospitality leaders, investors, government stakeholders and corporate decision-makers — a conversation about the future of Nigerian hospitality and the role of better coffee infrastructure within it.
More than a launch
We want the Appia Life Viva to remain part of the conversation long after the launch day.
The machine will be permanently installed at the Mai Shayi Coffee Flagship, allowing hospitality operators, coffee professionals and visitors to experience it in a real commercial environment rather than a temporary exhibition setting.
For Mai Shayi Coffee, this is what a coffee equipment launch should ultimately do: connect better technology with better coffee, better training and better hospitality.
This November, we are not simply unveiling a machine. We are opening a new chapter for professional coffee in Nigeria — and inviting the industry to experience it with us.
